From Borders to Powerlines

For Uttam Shinde, RoW Officer, the journey from guarding borders to powering them has been nothing short of transformative.

Born in a village in Kolhapur where electricity was scarce, his childhood was lit by the dim glow of a kerosene lamp. Today, he strengthens the very transmission backbone that once felt like a distant privilege. Life has come full circle.

His story began in 2001 with the Border Security Force. For over two decades, Uttam served across high‑altitude terrains, anti‑naxal operations, artillery command, and VVIP security. The uniform instilled discipline, resilience, and accountability - qualities that became his compass for leadership. Alongside service, he pursued education, believing knowledge sharpens command.

Service builds character, discipline builds leaders, and purpose builds nations.

In 2021, after voluntary retirement, he sought a new mission. Corporate roles added perspective, but he longed for an organisation where values matched purpose. He found that alignment at Resonia.

Joining as a RoW Executive, Uttam discovered that nation‑building does not end at the border. It continues through infrastructure that powers homes, industries, and hospitals. Transmission networks are silent guardians of progress, and being part of that mission carries the same responsibility he once felt in uniform.

Resonia’s commitment to hiring veterans made the transition seamless. Integrity, crisis management, operational excellence, and ownership - qualities honed in service - now strengthen project execution, community engagement, and safety culture. Here, experience is valued, discipline is appreciated, and leadership is nurtured.

From a childhood of scarcity to shaping India’s power future, Uttam’s journey reflects one truth: struggle builds character, service builds honour, and opportunity builds the future.
